Deleting your account

You can delete your TVTracker account yourself, at any time, from the app. It takes about thirty seconds and it is permanent.

Delete it from the web

Sign in and go to Settings. The delete control is the last item in the menu.

Open Settings

Step by step

  1. Open Settings

Sign in, then open your profile and choose Settings. On the web you can go straight there with the button above.

  2. Export first, if you want a copy

Settings → Data gives you a copy of your watch history. Do this before deleting — afterwards there is nothing left to export.

  3. Choose Delete account

It is the last item in the settings menu, below Sign out, in red.

  4. Type your username to confirm

Deliberately awkward: it is irreversible, so it should not be possible to do by accident. Then press Delete forever.

It is the same on mobile

On iPhone, iPad and Android the route is identical: Profile → Settings → Delete account, at the bottom of the list. You do not need to visit this website, and you do not need to contact us first.

What gets deleted

Everything attached to the account, immediately and permanently:

  • Your profile — email address, username, display name, avatar and cover image.
  • Your entire watch history: every film, show and episode you marked as watched.
  • Your ratings, feelings and votes.
  • Your watchlist, favourites and every list you made.
  • Your comments and likes.
  • Your follows, in both directions.
  • Your statistics, XP, levels, badges and challenge progress.
  • Your notification tokens, so the apps stop sending to your devices.
  • Every API token, which signs you out of every device at once.

There is no grace period and no undo. We do not keep a hidden copy of a deleted account, and support cannot restore one — so export anything you want to keep before you start.

What survives, without your name on it

Two narrow exceptions, both with the link to you removed:

  • Moderation records. If a report was filed and resolved, that record stays, so deleting an account cannot erase it.
  • Product feedback you sent us is kept as anonymous feedback.

Ordinary server logs and encrypted backups age out on their own schedule and are not used to rebuild deleted accounts.

If you cannot get in

Locked out, lost the email address, or the app will not open? Write to [email protected] from the address on the account, or tell us the username, and we will delete it for you. We may need to check you own the account first — that check protects you, not us.

Just want a break instead?

Deleting is not the only option. You can sign out on every device, turn off all notifications in Settings, or tighten your privacy settings so your profile and activity are not visible to other people — all without losing your history.
